The Virtual Tours are for prospective parents to learn more about our program, our health and safety plan in response to COVID-19, take a virtual tour of our classrooms and playground, and discuss the application process and lottery.
Applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be emailed to families immediately following a Virtual Tour. Given the unpredictability and uncertainty surrounding the current 2020 year, BHCP is extending the application period to give families additional time to apply. The application deadline is March 5, 2021, and the lottery will be held by the end of March 2021. Siblings of current BHCP students have priority enrollment, followed by returning families with siblings of children who previously attended BHCP. Many of the returning families are active participants and have experienced first-hand the powerful combination of parents and teachers working together to build a community for our children. We hope you take the opportunity to become actively involved in your child’s education … right from the start!
BHCP not only values parent involvement, but our operations depend upon it. We ask each family to co-op in their child’s classroom, participate in the maintenance of our school and playground, join one of our many committees (Board of Directors, Development, Educational Advisory, Business Operations, Maintenance), and attend three (3) mandatory parent events held throughout the school year. Such active involvement is an excellent way to meet other parents and to share your interest and talents with our community.
Enrollment – How to Apply to BHCP
BHCP is a unique preschool. Our Reggio-Emilia inspired curriculum and high level of parent involvement set us apart from other area preschools. In order that families fully understand BHCP’s educational philosophy and parental commitments, we require that parents attend either a school tour or our Open House in order to receive an application.
Enrollment is conducted by lottery. We grant priority in admissions to siblings of current and former students, members of the Beverley Hills Community United Methodist Church, children of BHCP alumni, and children of our staff. We strive to reflect the diversity of our community in our school population and encourage applications from all who are committed to our educational approach and co-operative nature of our preschool.
Our enrollment lottery is held in late January, and families are notified of lottery results by early February. We maintain our wait-lists through January of the following school year, should we have an opening mid-year. Families who were not offered placement must re-apply each year.

We realize that the cost of private preschool can be a daunting expense for many families. We are proud to offer financial assistance on an annual basis to families with demonstrated financial needs.
